(The offerings in this blog post were gifted to me in exchange for photos, including the Glisten & Glow Top Coat; all thoughts are my own)
Hi all! It has been a while on my blog. My life has been busy, and now it’s gotten even busier: my husband and I got a puppy! Her name is Maple, she is only 11 weeks old, and we love her to bits. But, that also means any free time I have during the week is pretty much gone at this time. Blog, YouTube, and other social media posts will more than likely be to the bare minimum for now. Stick with me, though, as she’s gaining more and more independence every day – that also means I am, too.
Enough about me. Today, I have Glisten & Glow’s upcoming 6-piece creme collection for spring titled “It’s A Spring Fling Thing”. It’s such an adorable name for such a beautiful and springy palette! Jill really nailed these colors and I am honored to swatch them. I love a good creme, and I’m missing the warm weather pretty heavily, so these really hit the spot. Please note that I did do some flower-y nail art with this collection, but I just haven’t had the time to edit them (you know, puppy…).
Let’s get started! I will share them in alphabetical order. The gist of application recommendations will generally be the same with all of these, with some differences in whether I think they could be one-coat contenders.
Glisten & Glow: Bloom Baby Bloom
“Bloom Baby Bloom” is a a soft medium pink creme polish.
I am wearing it in 2 coats with the Glisten & Glow Top Coat.
Application Recommendations:
- Coats: 1-3; your preference!
- Top Coats: Your normal top coat is perfect!
- Nail Art: Perfect for ANYTHING – if you think of it, you can use it!
- Time: Great for a mani in a pinch!
Before I had even read the description for “Bloom Baby Bloom”, I said to myself that it is the perfect color to be described as a medium pink. It’s so happy but still quite soft. I think it’s the perfect pink if you didn’t want to wear pastels for spring quite yet.
Jill’s creme formulas are absolutely incredible. If you’ve never used them, but struggle painting with creme formulas, do yourself a favor and try a Glisten & Glow creme! “Bloom Baby Bloom’s” formula specifically was actually opaque in one coat for me, and it self-leveled beautifully on the nail. Even coverage on the first try… you deserve to be spoiled by your creme polishes like this! These polishes also dry super quickly for another coat application or your top coat. This also helps with working with them in regards to nail art.

Glisten & Glow: Botanical Babe
“Botanical Babe” is a light gray with sage undertones creme polish.
I am wearing 2 coats with the Glisten & Glow Top Coat.
Application Recommendations:
- Coats: 2-3; your preference!
- Top Coats: Your normal top coat is perfect!
- Nail Art: Perfect for ANYTHING – if you think of it, you can use it!
- Time: Great for a mani in a pinch!
“Botanical Babe” seemed more green to me in real life than the description, but I do agree with the description generally. Looking at my notes when I swatched it, I described it as a dusty sage or succulent color. It’s incredibly flattering on my skin tone and one I know I will reach for a bunch this spring. Green lovers: if you love cremes, you definitely should try this one out!
I don’t think I would call this one a one-coater for me, but it comes darn close. I think it just needs the second coat to even out any spots that weren’t quite completely opaque. However, you do get very close. If you don’t have a long free-edge, you could most likely get away with one coat.

Glisten & Glow: Budding Beauty
“Budding Beauty” is a light purple with mauve undertones crème polish.
If I had to choose a favorite in this collection, it would be “Budding Beauty.” This polish is extremely flattering on me and just looks beautiful. I couldn’t stop staring at my hands afterwards – that’s how you know it’s good! I definitely plan on wearing it again the second I get some free time to paint my nails.
I would also consider “Budding Beauty” to be a polish that is opaque in one. I saw no evidence of bald spots or sheerness on the first coat. This is another polish safe for you to do on-the-go if needed!

Glisten & Glow: Dewdrop Darling
“Dewdrop Darling” is a slightly dusty light blue crème polish.
I don’t know if I would call this a light blue, but I do agree that it is slightly dusty (not totally saturated). In fact, I would probably say this is a great medium blue, like the afternoon blue sky in the summer. It’s on the same order as the “medium pink” that “Bloom Baby Bloom” is, if that makes sense. It also has such an adorable name! It’s an incredibly happy polish.
This is another polish in the collection that I noted may not be opaque in one as the formula seemed a bit thinner to me than the others. However, that may just be user error/experience. Regardless, it leveled beautifully in 2 with no hint of baldness or nail line.

Glisten & Glow: Pretty In Pollination
“Pretty In Pollination” is a buttercup yellow crème polish.
This is the CUTEST polish I own, hand’s down! Although it’s quite a bright yellow, it’s actually pretty delicate on the nail. I see the slightest hint of green undertones in it that I think soften the yellow and make it quite flattering on my skin tone – dare I say, it’s a great match to the color of pollen. You’ll mostly see this slightly green undertone in the bottle as it seemingly disappears on the nail.
I noted that I think this could be a one-coater polish as long as you don’t overwork the polish while applying to your nails. So, be mindful of your brushstrokes, and it’s okay if you can’t get it perfectly even on the first coat. Remember: Jill’s creme polishes do level well if you give them the chance! And, they’ll reach opacity in 2 coats, anyway.

Glisten & Glow: Rooting For You
“Rooting For You” is a soft desert taupe crème polish.
I am wearing 2 coats with the Glisten & Glow Top Coat.
Application Recommendations:
- Coats: 1-3; your preference!
- Top Coats: Your normal top coat is perfect!
- Nail Art: Perfect for ANYTHING – if you think of it, you can use it!
- Time: Great for a mani in a pinch!
This is another easy one-coater in the collection! The color is quite unique; I described it in my notes as “chocolate milk with light purple undertones”, if that helps you at all. However, I didn’t find this color super flattering on my skin tone. I think the saturation and lightness of the color is too close to my skin tone, and makes my hands a bit mannequin-y. If you have a similar pale skin tone to mine, just be aware. I do think it looks incredibly classy on darker skin tones to mine.
