Polish Pickup: Whimsigoth | October 2026

(These offerings were received with and without payment for swatches. For more information on what my relationships are with the brands below, go to my PR Disclosures page)

Look who’s late again! September was a much crazier month than I was expecting for swatching, so this is a little late and there is no YouTube video. Bleh. But! At least I am getting this out. I have really loved seeing the offerings this month and I think the makers delivered. I have 5 offerings shared with you below, all of which are still available!

Please note that my magnetic polish swatches all follow the same magnetization pattern. From thumb to pinky: ring magnet, cat-eye, ring magnet, velvet, and unmagnetized.

Polish Pickup is open now, October 2 to October 5 at 11:59 pm EDT!

silver springs

by Cuticula Nail Lacquer

DESCRIPTION: This is a strange, but beautiful combination of silvery blue magnetic pigment and silver holographic sprinkles.

INSPIRATION: Cuticula was inspired by the one and only Stevie Nicks and the song “Silver Springs.”

MANICURE DETAILS: Three coats with a glossy top coat.

PRICE & CAP: $14.00 | Cap: None

Application Recommendations

COATS: Strongly suggest going up to 3 coats for maximum opacity if you are using a style like cat-eye or the ring magnet. 2 is fine for velvet and unmagnetized.

BASE COATS: Dependent on how many coats/magnetization styles you want to use due to differing opacities. May want a blurring base if using 2 coats and a style like cat-eye.

TOP COATS: Your normal glossy top coat is perfect! Dries with no texture.

EXTRA NOTES: I would highly suggest using magnetization styles like the cateye, ring magnet, or glass bead effect to let those bar glitters really shine against the dark blue base! I also think you can see the nuance in the blue and silver magnetic shifts better in these magnetization styles.

tapestries & tarot

by Glisten & Glow

DESCRIPTION: Deep & smokey teal jelly polish loaded with color shifting ghost flakes that shift blue to aqua and neon orange reflective glitters.

INSPIRATION: Beautiful dark and celestial tapestries that were popular wall décor in the 90’s and the ever popular 90’s sleepover fun of reading tarot cards.

MANICURE DETAILS: Two coats with glitter smoother and a glossy top coat.

PRICE & CAP: $14.00 | Cap: None

Application Recommendations

COATS: 2 coats is plenty plump on the nail!

BASE COATS: Although unlikely, you may see your nail line if you use thin coats. Use a blurring base out of caution in case you really hate sheer polishes!

TOP COATS: A layer of glitter smoother before your glossy top coat is a must.

EXTRA NOTES: I do think this polish was very slightly patchy – I saw areas on my nails where the base color is a bit darker or lighter. But, that isn’t as visible in real life (swatch photos are great for highlighting every imperfection!). You also may want to have polish thinner on hand as this formula gets gloopy pretty quickly.

The Power Of Three

by Kathleen & Co

DESCRIPTION: A deep violet base with blue/violet shimmer, a peachy pink/orange/gold/green shifting multichrome magnetic and pink reflective glitter for added sparkle.

INSPIRATION: Charmed, the TV show!

MANICURE DETAILS: Two coats with a glossy top coat.

PRICE & CAP: $14.00 | Cap: 500 bottles

APPLICATION VIDEO: YouTube Shorts; Instagram Reel

Application Recommendations

COATS: 2 coats is perfect for opacity!

BASE COATS: Your normal base coat is perfect! Builds to opacity and doesn’t stain.

TOP COATS: Your normal glossy top coat is perfect! The reflective glitters do not have enough texture to require glitter smoother.

EXTRA NOTES: This is definitely a top pick for me this month! I am in awe of how many colors you get with this nail polish, despite whatever magnetic style you prefer. This is a rare magnetic win for me as I think all the styles are really beautiful and show the shifts and sparkles well.

Hexy in pink

by Painted Polish

DESCRIPTION: The polish features light pink holographic glitters and black flakies in a pink lace colored base.

INSPIRATION: A pink witch aesthetic collage.

MANICURE DETAILS: Two coats with a glossy top coat.

PRICE & CAP: $12.50 | Cap: 400 bottles

APPLICATION VIDEO: YouTube Shorts; Instagram Reel

LINK TO PURCHASE: https://polishpickup.com/collections/shop-all/products/painted-polish-hexy-in-pink

Application Recommendations

COATS: 2 coats is perfect for opacity!

BASE COATS: Your normal base coat is perfect! Builds to opacity and doesn’t stain.

TOP COATS: This polish will dry with texture, so be sure to use a layer of glitter smoother underneath your top coat.

EXTRA NOTES: I kind of felt like a crystal lady in this polish… if that makes sense. So, I think Painted Polish knocked this one out of the park! It is surprisingly delicate despite the black flakes. I described the color as almost a gray that leans pink, or maybe a neutral pink. It is not in your face at all and fits for someone who prefers more subtle pinks.

charmed

by Rogue Lacquer

DESCRIPTION: A magenta red, gold green multichrome with sparkling holo with an blue green base.

INSPIRATION: The TV show Charmed – “it was one of my favorite witchy TV shows!”

MANICURE DETAILS: Two coats with a glossy top coat.

PRICE & CAP: $13.50 | Cap: 500 bottles

APPLICATION VIDEO: YouTube Shorts; Instagram Reel

LINK TO PURCHASE: https://polishpickup.com/products/rogue-lacquer-charmed?_pos=1&_psq=rogue+lacquer&_psid=87888fbe5&_ss=e

Application Recommendations

COATS: 2-3 coats, your preference.

BASE COATS: Your normal base coat is perfect! Builds to opacity and doesn’t stain.

TOP COATS: Your normal glossy top coat is perfect!

EXTRA NOTES: This is another top pick for me! (Did I really choose the two Charmed polishes as my top picks without even watching the show?) The formula is super buttery smooth and so easy to apply. There are SO many colors in this while still being moody – a perfect “whimsigoth” polish, if you ask me.

Thank you all so much for reading and looking! Have you already ordered from Polish Pickup this month? If so, did you include any from above?
